Baylor's First Dance
About the Show
Celebrate 30 years of dancing bears with us, as we slide back in time to 1996 , when there was a no-dance policy at Baylor. Despite the ban, both teachers and students engage in a cat-and-mouse game, dancing at every twist and turn like they just don’t care. Following the ballroom blitz, you can finally breathe a sigh of relief to Baylor’s true first-ever dance on campus: the Waco-renowned Miracle on 5th Street, where the President and First Lady prove that no matter what rules are in place, the rhythm is gonna get you!

The Baylor Lariat Review
Opening with a joke about “not being allowed to dance at Baylor 30 years ago,” the theme immediately piqued my curiosity. With songs like “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana and “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolla the playlist was one of the best parts, the vocals unfortunately fell a few categories below. The choreography attempted to be as good as the playlist but also could have used some je ne sais quoi.
*Lariat reviews are not indicative of the judging/scoring of any Sing act. They are provided for the historical record, but it is important to note that they are a wholly subjective review by, in most cases, a single reviewer.
